HEC Banned Universities The Higher Education Commission Pakistan (HEC ) has imposed a complete ban on new affiliations to colleges and new institutes by the university, including affiliation to various programs, with the aim of ensuring the quality of education.
It has been announced in the Recent Meeting of HEC that from now until the new HEC policy is announced, no university or institute will issue any affiliation to any new institute college.
This decision has come as part of the ongoing review of HEC’s ethics policy and standards, which aims to enhance quality and curb malpractices in higher education in Pakistan.
A lot of concern has been expressed in this meeting that there is a lack of adequate infrastructure for affiliating colleges and institutes of the existing public sector universities. These colleges and universities have issued affiliations to various colleges and university sub-campuses. This is the reason for not meeting the faculty and support facilities despite the clear instructions issued by HEC.
